Victoria 1 Adam King dominated the round one of the AMCA country cup at Blue Ribbon Raceway on Saturday night. King won all his heats and capped it off with an excellent drive in the final. Rick Clark and David May were other drivers to do well.
The Super Modified’s appeared a little tentative in their racing and results were shared between Mal Sommerville and Ray Abbot.
The Limited Sportsman Tri-series saw some tight racing with local driver Mark McDonald doing well and finishing second in the 15 lap final. There was a lot of casualties during the night and that include the rest of the McDonald racing team. South Australian Brett Horton had a night out and deserved his win in the final. Mark Bunting was third and Peter Walters fourth.
Again the Three Litre / Productions put on exciting racing. Visiting drivers Steve Honeyman and Will Lamb really put it up to the local drivers Matt Gerlach and Brett Luy.
The Juniors had a good nights racing with three of our local juniors competing, Lauren Kristie, Jo Ellis and Gemma Horrcks. Lauren and Jo had a great battle at the rear of the field against each other.
Gemma was the success story of the night fighting of the visiting drivers to win the final race. Gemma beat home Warrnambool’s James Morgan and Bairnsdale driver Brooke Ferguson.
The ASCF Ladies saw some great battles between locals Amy Yole, Emma Hutchinson and visiting Hamilton driver Gidgit Payne. Emma continues to improve as the season progresses and we should see some great battles in the future.
The V8 trucks were down to 4 trucks with Luke James staying ahead of Wes Bell all night.
