Andrew Blackwell led all the way to win his third Victorian Title in a row of the Modified Production sedans at Blue Ribbon Raceway on Saturday night. He is the first person to ever win a hat trick of Victorian titles.
What a fantastic nights racing on Saturday night as the SRA Sprintcars burnt up the track in record racing times. The weather may have been hot but this only matched the racing as the Sprinters took hundredths of seconds off the track record in the 2 lap pole shoot out. V70 John Vogels took .60 off the current track record with a lap time of 14.056.
Victoria 1 Adam King dominated the round one of the AMCA country cup at Blue Ribbon Raceway on Saturday night. King won all his heats and capped it off with an excellent drive in the final. Rick Clark and David May were other drivers to do well.
Saturday night saw the return of the speedway season at Blue Ribbon Raceway.
One of the features of the night was the 1200cc Junior’s which was sponsored by the Dimboola Traders. Fifteen junior cars contested four heats and a final.
WORKING BEE THIS SUNDAY (4th October)to paint pit building and complete the timing loop.
PRACTICE DAY Sunday October 18th … Drivers are expected to attend working bee first at 9.30 am to prepare track for racing.
People are asked to get their licences, membership and car registration in as soon as possible as there is only four weeks till racing and paper work takes up to three weeks.
