Dylan Simpson is in training to be Blue Ribbon Raceway’s new flagboy.

Simpson, 14, a keen speedway fan, has put his hand up to get involved in any way he can, with his latest endeavour learning the flags from flag marshall Eric Dawson.

Simpson said he became involved through his mother, Jenny, who has had a long association with speedway competition.

“I do the lights for Stawell Speedway, and have done lap scoring for Horsham and I decided to get involved with doing the flags,” Simpson said.

“Mum has been involved in speedway forever, and I just got involved that way.”
