In a night of spectacular racing Simon Craven was the winner of Round 2 of the Oval Express Formula 500 Series on Sunday. This was a after he had finished third in round 1 at Hamilton on Boxing Day Chad Sullivan was second and Jess Moulden 3rd.
In the B-Main we had an unfortunate incident with Warrnambool teenage driver Corey McCullagh’s car bursting into flames and Corey receiving extensive burns down his back. He was later airlifted to the Alfred Hospital in Melbourne. It is believed Corey suffered burns to 25% of his body.
Nine heats where conducted in a very big nights racing with circumstances forcing a very late finish. Heat winners were Chad Sullivan, Leigh Van Ginneken, Simon Craven (2 wins), Brad Warwick, Charlie Brown, Matt Brown, Brock Hallett and Jess Moulden.
The night also saw some fantastic racing with the Modified Productions warming up for their Victorian title on Jan 30th, the Three Litres contesting round 1 of their series, the Street Stocks and Limited Sporties.
