Spectators were treated to two nights of high speed action, rollovers and heavy hits at Blue Ribbon Raceway on the weekend as 35 Formula 500 drivers hit the track to fight it out for the Victorian Title.
Fearless young gun Luke James dominated the V8 Truck Feature at Blue Ribbon Speedway on Saturday night. James won all the three heats and was a runaway winner in the final.
Wes Bell was hard on his heals all night so much so that Bells truck was blowing out smoke towards the end of the night with the fire truck following him off the track to cool things down.
Saturday night saw the return of the speedway season at Blue Ribbon Raceway.
One of the features of the night was the 1200cc Junior’s which was sponsored by the Dimboola Traders. Fifteen junior cars contested four heats and a final.
Blue Ribbon Raceway will conclude it’s season this weekend with a two day speedway carnival. The event will be run on both Saturday and Sunday, with a huge number of drivers set to attend. Horsham’s nomination secretary Pam Ellis stated that they were happy with the numbers at Monday night.
Several club drivers made the trip down to Hamilton’s Western Speedway on Saturday night for their season’s opening event. Horsham drivers were spread through most fields during the night, with some varying results between classes.
