Tim took no encouragement to get his race truck out …. “Hop in”, he says… I look in and there is no passenger seat, so I kneel down and hang onto the roll bar. Tim sits down and then puts the steering wheel on, that’s how tight things are in there. I think my white knuckles hanging on was enough for Tim to drive very carefully out of the shed.
I could hear Dean’s truck before I saw it when I pulled in to take his picture. It wasn’t the usual roar of the 318 Chrysler engine you hear trackside, it was struggling to start. But as you can see, it soon started and was reversed out of the shed for the photo!
Did you know that Speedway Truck Racing was established here at the Blue Ribbon Raceway?
It was about 15 or 16 years ago the idea was thrown up between Shaun Queale, the late Robin Thomas and Wes Bell. Two trucks were built, approved by NASR and hit the track.

Horsham Motor Sports Club celebrated twenty years of racing at Blue Ribbon Raceway on Saturday. Speedway drivers from all corners of Victoria and South Australia made the journey to help celebrate the Kalkee track.
On top of the bill was the Victorian Modified Production Association who was also celebrating 20 years of association.
