Twenty-five V8s from five states across Australia will descend on Kalkee’s Blue Ribbon Raceway tomorrow for the AMCA Victorian Championships.

State title holders Jamie Collins, Tim Reidy, Nick Stubbs and Daniel Brooks will join two-time national champion Mark Lincoln at the Event.

Three rounds of heats will determine starting positions in the main race.

The Les McMaster Memorial for Limited Sportsman and the ASCF Open Sedan races will also be run. There is no junior feature.

Committee Member and Lap Scorer Jamie Collins said 12 drivers had registered for the memorial race, which is run in honour of founding Horsham Motor Sports Club member Les McMaster.
He said the memorial had become a great tradition.

“After he died a few years ago, we decided to host an annual event in his name, and we have done so ever since”, he said.
“We’re re-running the memorial feature this week after our last race meeting was abandoned due to bad weather.”

Tomorrow morning will also provide an opportunity for fans to be close to the drivers and their cars.
The cars will be on display at 10am at the old United service station, on the corner of Wilson and Darlot Streets in Horsham.

“They’re pretty unique-looking vehicles – a speedway race car with a sedan appearance”, Collins said.

Racing starts at 5:30pm
