Gerlach Crowned Club Champion

Horsham Motor Sports Club held their Presentation night on Saturday 11th July.
Matt Gerlach was crowned Club Champion, Gerlach had an excellent year in his Commodore 3 litre car. Runner -up was up and coming Limited Sportsman driver Tim McDonald and 3rd place was veteran Truck driver Wes Bell.

Presentation Dinner

The years racing has concluded and the HMSC will wind up the year with its annual Presentation Dinner on Saturday July 11th.  This year we have a change of venue with the presentation dinner being held at the Kalkee Football Club Rooms.  The night will have a number of interests with a live band, trivia competition and a spinning wheel and lots of prizes on offer.

Racing Cancelled Due To Weather

After an inspection of the track at 11.00am this morning (Thursday 4th June) it was decided to CANCEL the racing at Blue Ribbon Raceway this long weekend.
The constant rain, (beautiful rain, ask any farmer), has meant the track and surrounds were drenched with water. The officials had no choice as the forecast is for even more rain and the track and surrounds would need at least one or two days of dry weather to recover.

Moulden Mauls Record

It was a fast and furious night at Blue Ribbon Speedway on Saturday night.  Formula 500 driver Jess Moulden (Vic53) broke the track record more than once over the nights racing. Her times were all around the 14.48 mark which bettered the old record 15.78. Moulden has taken a liking to the track as she won this same event, the Formula 500 Stampede Series round 10, at Blue Ribbon last year. Nine other drivers drove under the old record time. The Blue Ribbon track is red hot at the moment.

V8 Dirt Modifieds Result Controversy

The V8 Dirt Modifieds were down on numbers but their racing was electrifying.  The contests were close and in the finish controversial. The winner was clear cut as Vic 19 Steven Milthorpe led from the start to finish.

Second and third place was a tight affair with Vic 16 Daryl Hickson holding off Vic 55 Trevor Perry until the very last corner. This effort caused the stewards to take a close look and interview both drivers as the cars had come into close contact.
