The roar of V8 engines will return to Blue Ribbon Raceway this Saturday featuring Round 9 of the Sprintcar Allstars.

Twenty three cars have nominated to compete in the second last round for the season.

The All Star championship is tightly contested with only 21 points between the top three drivers. Corey Lincoln of Beveridge leads the series by only 10 points infront of Brenten Farrer of Kilmore in second, and South Australian Jed Bell in third spot.

Dion Bellman of Purnim who finished 2nd last year at Blue Ribbon, will also return to the track currently placed 7th in the championship.

Also featuring on Saturday night is the Robin Thomas V8 Truck Memorial. It will be the third time the annual event has be run to celebrate the long serving club member who passed away in 2013.

Robin was a keen supporter of all competitor classes and he of course had an endless passion for our Blue Ribbon V8 Trucks …which he did race in the early time of the class.

Also competing on Saturday night will be a collection of Street Stocks, Production and Modified Production. The cars will compete together as ASCF Open Sedans.

Speedway fans will have a chance to meet some of the Sprintcar drivers and have close look at their cars. A static display of Sprincars will be on display at the old United Service Station, on the corner of Wilson and Darlot Streets in Horsham, Saturday morning at 10 am.

Gates at the speedway open at 5.30pm, with the action to start at 6.30pm.

Admission is $25 for adults, $20 for pensioners and $15 for students. Children under 12 get in for free.
