Drivers are travelling from all over Victoria and from interstate to join in the final Speedway racing for this season at Horsham. 139 drivers have nominated for this weekend’s Speedway Carnival at the Blue Ribbon Raceway. Drivers are competing in various events on the program with 27 Junior drivers coming to join in the 1200cc Junior Feature.

Blue Ribbon Raceway – Rolling With Action
Track conditions added to the numerous rollovers which kept the dedicated crowd on their toes.
Vintage Hot Rods graced the track, showing off cars up to 30 years of age, including a cut down HJ Holden.
Best presented of the weekend was taken out by Ian Winslade in the Mildura number 21 machine.

Racing (WBR), are proud to announce that American speedway star the Missouri Missile, Bert Cheatham, is set to do battle with our best super sedan drivers at Blue Ribbon Raceway this Saturday night, January 18th 2003, for the Head’s Caps Southern National Series round # 3.
Fresh from winning his fourth track championship at Tri-City Speedway, Illinois Bert is pumped and ready to roll in the WBR Kennard’s Hire/Tri Neon Signs Iroc Camaro. Cheatham is no stranger to Australia having raced with the best down in Tasmania last season in the WBR Camaro and prior to this, three times with the USA Test Team.
Spectators Rejoice as Speedway Returns
Horsham Motor Sports Club left major concerns about public liability insurance in a cloud of speedway dust, as it launched its season at Blue Ribbon Raceway at Kalkee.
The club, which at one stage contemplated shutting down its speedway this season, successfully completed its 44-race, 12-class program on Saturday night.
Club spokesman Henry Berry said officials had been concerned about early delays because of hot weather in the afternoon but the program moved quickly after sunset.
Huge Variety on Opening Speedway Program this Saturday
This weekends opening meeting includes a large variety and two classes which have never appeared at the Blue Ribbon. They are the Humpy Holdens and the Golden Oldies, both comprising of Holden or Falcons mainly from the 50’s.
