A huge field of Street Stock are set to race this Saturday night at Kalkee’s Blue Ribbon Raceway with 32 drivers from across Victoria and SA nominated to race in the annual Street Stock 1000.

Drivers will race in three heat races during the night which will decided their starting positions in the feature final.

Previous two-time feature winner Mark Gartner from Penola will be looking to claim the trophy once again. But it will be a difficult challenge with the Horsham drivers Richard Bansemer and Luke James both vying for a win.

Current Victoria and NSW Champion Brad McClure from Geelong is also keen to continue his winning streak and claim Street Stock 1000 for a second time.

The feature race will be decided in a thirty-lap final.

Also featuring on the evening will be the final round of the Formula 500 Stampede Series.

The Open wheeled Formula 500’s have an appearance of a miniature sprint car propelled around the track by a highly tuned and powerful 600cc motorcycle engine. But don’t let their small appearance deceive you, they are one of the fastest speedway cars on the track. The lap time between the heavier Sprintcar and a Formula 500 is measured in milliseconds.

Currently the Stampede Series points are very close with only one point between Terry Rankin of Geelong and Jack Bell of Allansford. But Melbourne drivers Dale Sinclair and Steven Horton are still in with a chance after both performing consistently throughout the season.

The V8 Trucks return to Blue Ribbon Raceway to support the evening.

Gates will open at 4:30pm with the action to start at 5:30pm.

Admission is $20 for adults, $15 for pensioners and $10 for students.

Children under 12 get in for free – See you there!!
